Where AIM sits

Not another model with a user interface

Discounted government AI contracts and governed-execution workflow tools are real. AIM is still the pre-decision layer: constraint-normalized scoring, vendor-neutral architecture, cited cost, designated approvals, and a delivery baseline — upstream of platform commitment.

The competitive pressure

Cheap AI and governed-execution SKUs

Agencies can now buy discounted general-purpose AI on government contracts. They can also buy decision-support and workflow SKUs that help teams run work once a platform is chosen. Those are live alternatives. They do not replace a modernization decision that has to survive a contracting officer, a hospital CFO, or a board.

AIM is the walk that produces the decision those tools leave unfinished: evidence, ranked alternatives, 3- and 5-year affordability, and a recorded approval the delivery record can inherit.

Fast drafting, research, and synthesis. No live catalog scoring, no cited parametric cost, no designated organizational approval, and no baseline the delivery team inherits. “A model estimated it” is not a defensible IGCE or TCO.

Governed-execution tools

Run work after the choice

Workflow, ticketing, and decision-support SKUs help teams execute once they are inside a platform. That is downstream of the commitment. AIM is upstream of that commitment.

AIM

Govern the decision first

Constraint-normalized RAO scores, vendor-neutral architecture, 3- and 5-year cost with Year 1 as a row, designated approvals, provenance, then Project Pulse and Pulse Sustainment. The host still owns the environment.

Vendor neutrality can recommend the incumbent

If a discounted current vendor scores against the organization's constraints, AIM says so. Neutrality is not a bias against the incumbent. A honest demo can lose to the current stack.

The test is less rework, not another tool

Policy translation programs and hours-saved dashboards are demand signals, not AIM product lanes. The commercial test is whether one complete decision reduces reconciliation after award.
